JOHN robertson

After having scored a win in the Nepean Symphony’s composers’ competition in 1987 he has had his music heard in many countries including the United Kingdom, Sweden, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Mexico, and China. His output is varied, including the opera mentioned above and three symphonies, all of which have now been recorded commercially.
His first album issued by Navona Records was VALLARTA SUITE which includes his second Symphony. This album has received positive reviews with such terms as “a significant compositional voice“ and “irresistibly beautiful Romantic music“ being used. The second album is titled SYMPHONY NO. 1, and includes a “Suite for Orchestra“ and the march “Strut In.“ Some of the review comments are “Robertson’s compositions are heartbreakingly beautiful and wonderfully timeless,“ and “Tasty, tasteful stuff that has the openness to bring new genre listeners into the tent, this set is a gasser for any fan of instrumental music“ This album, VIRTUOSITY, marks his third release.
