BaroqueCelloBACH CELLO SUITES is a two-disc release from native Romanian cellist Ovidiu Marinescu featuring Johann Sebastian Bach's 6 Suites for Violoncello Solo. Representing the pinnacle of solo cello repertory, the suites on this disc were composed in 1721/22 in Cöthen, Germany. Bach's cello suites follow the trend that developed in mid-18th century German-speaking countries, in which a suite consisted of four stylized dances: the allemande, courante, sarabande and gigue.

21st CenturyOrchestralString OrchestraZEICHEN is a three-movement piece from German composer Gerhard Stäbler. As written, the three movements can be performed separately, but they are bound together through a common essence. Stäbler's nontraditional use of the strings-using the stick of the bow and playing on the bridge and fingerboard-roughens the usually soft and pleasant instrumentation yet still allows the group to operate as a whole.
