Described as a "phenomenal performer" and a "confident and expressive player" Nicholas Fitton is enjoying a career as a distinguished orchestral flutist and piccoloist, chamber musician and teacher. Having performed in prominent East Coast venues, such as New York's Carnegie Hall, Boston's Symphony Hall, Kodak Hall at Eastman Theater, Jordan Hall, and Sanders Theater at Harvard, he is at home on the stage.
He began his collegiate career at the Eastman School of Music in 2007 in the studio of Bonita Boyd. While attending Eastman in 2009 he won the piccolo position for the groundbreaking YouTube Symphony Orchestra, the first ever online collaborative orchestra under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas.
A 2015 graduate of the Peabody Conservatory, he completed his Bachelor of Music under the guidance of virtuoso flutist Marina Piccinini. He has performed with The Florida Orchestra, The New Bedford Symphony, The Washington Chamber Orchestra, and the College Light Opera Company. Returning to Boston, Nicholas now works at Flutistry Boston as Customer Service Lead and Piccolo Sales Specialist, while also maintaining a private studio between Boston and Cape Cod.
