Mario Oyanadel is a Chilean composer holding a B.A. in Composition from the University of Chile. His work is shaped by a diverse catalog that includes solo and ensemble chamber music, orchestral works, interdisciplinary pieces, scenic music, and performance. He has participated in various festivals including the Thailand Contemporary Music Festival, the Alba Rosa Viva! Festival, the University of Chili Contemporary Music Festival, among others. He has also received numerous international and national awards such as 1st place in the “Composition Contest Luis Advis 2017,” Chile. He was a resident member of the Banaue International Composition Competition 2018 in the Philippines, and a finalist in the “Thailand international composition festival 2018”. His other accolades include 2nd place in the “Alba Vietor Viva! Composition Competition 2018,” Amsterdam; 1st place in the “Orquesta Marga Marga Composition Competition 2019;” Chile; 2nd place in the “Orquesta Nuevo Mundo Composition Competition 2019,” Chile; 3rd place in the “New Music Generation Composition Contest 2020,” Kazakhstan; Finalist in the “9th Rivers Award Composition Competition 2020”; 2nd place in the “Tapiolan Kuoro Composition Competition,” Finland; 2nd place in the “Composition Competition Carlos Riesco Third Edition 2021,” Chile; 3rd Place in the “Suzhou Jinji lake Composition Competition 2021,” China; Winner of the “Duo Sereno Composition Competition,” Chile; Selected by PARMA Recordings and Sphinx Organization to be part of a recording project 2022; First prize in Composition Competition held by SIMUC and Dúo Sereno, Chile; and Excellence Award in the Rivers award Composition Competition 2022. He is a member of the National Society for Chilean Composers.
